The first four days of each semester (excluding Fridays), an Educational Services administrator will be on campus in the evenings to resolve any problems. The names of those administrators will be published in the weekly College Bulletin. The rest of the semester (except for Saturdays), Bob Sanderson or designee from evening maintenance will be on duty.

Administrators will serve on Saturdays from 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and for special community events (time to be determined by need) on a sign-up or rotating basis. Administrators should wear a name badge. Administrators who serve on Saturdays should arrange compensatory time with their supervisors. The name of the administrator on evening/Saturday duty each week will be published in the College Bulletin. No administrator will be assigned for holiday Saturdays.

In case of an emergency in the evening, Bob Sanderson will contact the administrators on the emergency list in College Policies and Procedures.

The specific functions of the duty administrator/staff in the evenings/Saturdays include:

  1. To visit each building in use.
  2. To keep the Information Center informed of their location while on duty.
  3. To be at the Information Center 15 minutes before and after the beginning of classes.
  4. To confront itinerant persons regarding their purpose on campus and assist them in accomplishing their business.
  5. To attend activities such as art exhibit openings, athletic events, concerts, plays, etc. and assist as appropriate.
  6. To act on all matters (including personnel discipline) if there is imminent physical damage to persons or property, or if there are overt actions that damage the good name of the college.
  7. To serve the public, students and staff.

When the administrator on duty has a college conflict or becomes ill during the time s/he is scheduled, s/he should contact the Coordinator of Facilities Use who will contact one of the administrators/managers on the substitute list on a rotating basis to substitute that day.

During the summer months, maintenance will be on duty for evenings and Saturdays. If there is a special event on campus, an administrator will be assigned by the Coordinator of Facilities Use on a rotating basis. The Coordinator will be in charge of scheduling administrators, both for rotation and substitution and for coverage of special events.
