Applying for Financial Aid

If you have not applied for financial aid for the 2007-2008 school year and now want to be considered for summer aid, you should apply using FAFSA on the WEB no later than June 16, 2008.

Aid Eligibility

You may be eligible for financial aid for summer classes. To be eligible for summer 2008, you must:

  • Complete your 2007-2008 financial aid file (including all supporting documentation) by June 30, 2008.
  • Have remaining grant or loan eligibility for the 2007-2008 school year. This is determined by the Financial Aid Office.
  • Be making satisfactory academic progress.

Once you have completed your 2007-2008 financial aid file and have registered for summer classes, you will receive a Summer Award Letter informing you of your summer aid eligibility.

Tuition Deferral

For summer term, the Financial Aid Office will ONLY defer your tuition / fees if you have received a Summer Award Letter and you are going to be receiving a Pell or MN State grant at your registered credit level or have completed all necessary steps for a student loan. Students not meeting the above criteria MUST pay their full tuition / fees by the established payment deadline May 21, 2008 or the college reserves the right to drop students for nonpayment. However, do not rely on the college to drop your classes for you. If you decide not to attend, you must process a drop in the Records Office or on the web prior to the start of the term or you will be charged for those credits.

Transfer Students

If you completed your 2007-2008 financial aid file at another institution and then decide to attend Anoka-Ramsey Community College, you MUST complete your financial aid file at ARCC. Your financial aid does not transfer from one school to another. The Financial Aid Office must receive your financial information from the Federal Processing Center. To get that process started go to FAFSA on the WEB, click on "FAFSA Follow-up", and then on "Make Corrections: Add ARCC, Code 002332. This should be done by June 16, 2008.
